Our History

Brothers Mark and Matthew Malcom started Service First Express INC. over a decade ago. The Malcom family  has been involved in the trucking industry for over 50 years. Bud and Matthew were involved in every aspect of the business even before they reached their teens. Through hard work and a commitment to provide the best service possible, the business began to grow rapidly.

Operating out of small shop on Old Lexington Road it didn't take long to realize that the business was growing at rapid pass. 2 trucks grew to 4 then 8 and in 2010 plans to build a new facility began in earnest.

In April 2011 Service First Express, INC. moved to our new Overdale Road terminal.

In 2014 construction of new a trailer shop began and opened in 2015. By 2016 the fleet had grown to 150 trucks with 200 trailers and continues to grow. 

Matthew, the younger brother of  Bud  was co-founder / owner of SFEI until his passing in July 2016.

Matthew was best known for his "whatever it takes to do the job attitude". A real visionary with an eye to customer service and a real advocate for Service First Express, Inc. and its employees.

Matthew developed numerous contacts throughout the entire trucking industry and fostered those relationships into long and endearing friendships. He had a genuine concern for the employees, customers and the community. Matthew's philanthropy work for which he was so passionate  continues on to this day.
